Year 1 is for learners between 5 and 6 years old.

- Spend time reading with your child
- Talk together about what they are doing in school
- Tell your child how proud you are when they do well.
- Encourage them to join after-school clubs or activities
- Ask them to help you with things they are good at.
- Your child’s teacher will provide you with updates on progress and invite you to the Progress Evenings through the year. Your child will receive a written report once a year. Progress Reports
- Please contact the school if you have any concerns about your child and we will meet you to talk about any next steps to provide support and encouragement.
- Make sure your contact details are up to date, including your telephone and e mail address if you have one.
- Look out for text messages and e mails from school.
- Check that your child gives you any letters that are sent home.
- Check the school website.
- Try to come along to events at school.
- If you are worried about anything, go and talk to a teacher. They will want to help.
Your child needs to wear the Lower School uniform.
